After a beautiful morning spent chatting around a table at Salvador’s, a tremendous (but so welcome) storm blew over the village of Kaapsehoop. It was the 30th of April, and a group of us had met up in the village for lunch.

It poured down so loudly that for a moment, we couldn’t hear our conversation. Everyone dashed indoors and there was a hush as the rain bucketed down with glorious fury, wetting ground that had been parched by an unusually hot early Autumn. When the rain passed, and the pizza and beer we had ordered had been merrily consumed, I took a walk up the dirt track further into the village, enjoying the fresh air. A gentle mist covered the surrounding lawns and out of it walked this beautiful white horse. With the blue and green hues, the backdrop of the village, and the light mist, the scene was simply magical. After I took the photo, I stood quietly watching as the horse continued on its way and disappeared behind the trees and buildings. The storm then began to build once again, with the clouds rolling low over the mountain.
