About

Get to know more about me.

Hello, my name is Leigh-Anne Harber, and I grow a garden in the Lowveld.

When I first started getting into the swing of things, I tried to look for information specific to the Lowveld and its often intense conditions. Lo and behold, that information was hard to come by, and a lot of what I have learned has been through trial and a lot of error. I figured others might be on a path similar to mine, so in this blog I’m sharing what I’ve learned. I hope you find something worthwhile in my words.

My journey is nothing special and my interest in growing things is not unique. And yet, with each passing season, and as a writer and photographer, my desire to share this journey and hopefully inspire you to create a garden of your own, has grown.

So many of us have forgotten that we are a part of nature. The world forces us to disconnect from the natural world and as such forget its healing powers. Knowing how to nurture soil, grow some food and fall in love with the scent of flowers revives something within and creates a sense of calm. That is what my garden has done for me and what I hope yours will do for you.
